PERFORMING THE SPELL

A witch’s ladder is one of the most powerful forms of magick you can perform. As you work your way through the nine knots, each one builds upon the last, strengthening and concentrating the spell toward the intended outcome.

Prepare the Witch’s Ladder

  • Measure and cut about 36 inches of cotton twine.
  • Tie a small loop at one end for hanging the finished witch’s ladder.
  • Using a pencil, pen, or chalk, lightly mark where you want each of the nine items to be tied along the witch’s ladder. Aim for even spacing between each item. It does NOT need to be perfect.
  • Lay the items out in order so knot one begins with the key and knot nine ends with the lock.

Knot One: Opportunity

For knot one, use a gold key to open the opportunity for a promotion, with its gold color connecting the working to success and achievement.

Hold the key between your hands and focus on the position you want to move into. Visualize the opportunity opening to you and see yourself moving beyond your current role toward the promotion.

Tie the key at the first marked point on the ladder.

As you tighten the knot, speak:
“By knot of one, the door is undone.”

Knot Two: Courage

For knot two, use Tiger’s Eye to strengthen your courage and confidence, pushing past the fear and self-doubt that could keep you from pursuing the promotion.

Hold the stone between your hands and visualize yourself applying for the promotion. See yourself recognizing your own qualifications and knowing you are fully capable of taking on the new position.

Tie the Tiger’s Eye at the second marked point on the ladder.

As you tighten the knot, speak:

Knot Three: Protection

After the Spell

Once all nine knots have been tied, the witch’s ladder is complete. Hang it somewhere it can remain undisturbed and admire all the magick it holds.
